Myka Macalalag is a student from Ilo-Ilo (Philippines) who is now in La Rioja studying Spanish.
Next, we ask Myka Macalalag a series of questions about her experience in La Rioja Spanish School taking an “Intensive Spanish Course”, Who very kindly wanted to answer:
Interviewer (Ent.): How did you get to know La Rioja Spanish School?
Myka Macalalag: I met this school through a friend from La Rioja.
Ent.: What do you think about the teachers and classes at this school?
Myka Macalalag: I feel good in this Spanish school. The teachers are professional, patient and friendly. About Spanish classes, the most interesting are the different lessons every day and the exercises to practice grammar, listening and conversation.

Ent.: Tell us, how is your day to day in La Rioja?
Myka Macalalag: Every day I study for 4 hours at school in the morning. Sometimes, in the afternoon, I go jogging in the park. Also, every Friday I have some wines and some skewers with my classmates on Laurel Street. My favorite skewer is a chicken skewer with vegetables.

Ent.: What is your opinion about Logroño and La Rioja? Do you consider it a good region to live?
Myka Macalalag: Yes, the cost of living is very cheap compared to England, France or other European countries where I have lived. My opinion is that Logroño is a small city, but it is very beautiful and it is very close to other cities and interesting places, such as: Madrid, Barcelona or the south of France.
Ent.: During this time, have you visited any nearby city or town?
Myka Macalalag: Yes, I have visited tourist towns in La Rioja such as Ezcaray and Santo Domingo de la Calzada. Also San Sebastián or some places in the south of France like Biarritz.
Ent.: Would you recommend this experience to other people who are interested in learning Spanish in Spain?
Myka Macalalag: Yes, I recommend that other people learn Spanish because it is very interesting. When I arrived I couldn’t speak Spanish, but now I can. The teachers ask me if I don’t understand them and I liked studying in small groups because it is very effective. My first week here I was nervous, but afterwards everything went very well.
